Bologna in Hannover
Leibniz Universität Hannover Provides a Broad Range of International Courses of Study
Germany and its neighbouring European countries have agreed to create a common European higher education framework . This is the goal of the Bologna process - the step-by-step reform of European institutions of higher education.
The important goals - in addition to the reduction of restrictions to mobility for students and academic personnel - are the comparability and recognition of the degrees awarded in the participating countries. This was achieved by the gradual introduction of Bachelor's/Master’s degrees at European institutions of higher education.
The Bachelor's degree meant the introduction in Germany of a degree which permits graduates to take up employment at a much earlier age: after the three or four years it gives graduates a degree qualifying them for a profession. In addition, through its international recognition the Bachelor's/Masters's degree provides the basis for more mobility during a student’s course of study.
Leibniz Universität Hannover is also participating in the Bologna process and provides a broad range of international courses of study for German and foreign students, who can then obtain degrees which are comparable throughout Europe.
The University offers future-orientated training for young academics. Various international course of study can now be completed with the Bachelor's or Master's degree. Study at Leibniz Universität Hannover enables students not only to obtain an academic qualification, but also to gain practical experience with interdisciplinary, networked systems at an attractive location.
