Innovative Together
Leibniz Universität Hannover Has an Attractive Research Profile
The Collaborative Research Centres and Transfer Centres at Leibniz Universität Hannover funded by the German Research Society are an important instrument for establishing top quality research. Scientists are thus given the opportunity to carry out research into a specific topic over a longer period of time. The duration of the Collaborative Research Centres can be up to twelve years.
Collaborative Research Centres currently exist, for example, on the themes “Construction and manufacturing of active microsystems”, “Fundamentals for innovative bio-resorbable and permanent implants made of metal and ceramic materials”, and “Machine-intelligent components in the life cycle - the use of hereditary, component-inherent information in production technology.”
In addition to the Collaborative Research Centres there are also a number of innovation projects at Leibniz Universität Hannover. They are marked, in particular, by their high degree of interdisciplinarity and co-operation with internal and external partners. The topics range from Nanoelectronics to the Hannover Centre for Mechatronics. The International Centre for Computational Engineering Sciences with a total of four participating faculties is a special example of strong synergy effects for the creation of a modern, efficient and internationally orientated research centre.
Various groups of researchers also contribute to establishing new fields of work at Leibniz Universität Hannover. Several scientists work together here on special research tasks, for example the subjects of “Micro-structuring Thermomechanically Highly Stressed Surfaces” or “Earth Rotation and Global Dynamic Processes.”
