Leibniz Universität Hannover on iTunes U

Learning via video: now available on iTunes U

Foto: Notebook mit itunes-U, Fotograf: Christian Malsch The Leibniz Universität Hannover launched on iTunes U, a dedicated area of the iTunes Store (www.itunes.de) that offers free audio and video content from leading education institutions. Leibniz Universität Hannover on iTunes U will feature more than 150 lectures and teaching sessions which can be downloaded to a computer, iPhone, iPod or iPad. A highlight includes recordings of the lecture series “Karriere – Köpfe – Konzerne” (Careers – Heads – Companies) with entrepreneurs and managers such as Martin Kind, President of the Bundesliga football club Hannover 96.

“We are therefore contributing to an international exchange in knowledge with the aim of making high-quality teaching materials available for free across the world,” says Prof. Dr.-Ing. Erich Barke, President of the Leibniz Universität Hannover.
The content for Leibniz Universität Hannover on iTunes U has been supplied by a central service department of the university, the so-called eLearning Service Abteilung (elsa). At present, the department supplies more than 500 lecture recordings. Around 1.000 students use the service to view the recordings at home via the Learning Management System Stud.IP.
