Leibniz Universität Hannover receives 1 million euros DAAD funding


The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research have agreed to support Leibniz Universität Hannover with a total of 1 million euros funding for a period of four years. With its successful application, the University managed to assert itself, despite strong competition, in the new DAAD programme “Strategic Partnerships and Thematic Networks”.

The year 2016 is dedicated to Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz  


2016 represents the 370th anniversary of the birth of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, and the 300th anniversary of his death – he was born on 1 July 1646 in Leipzig and died on 14 November 1716 in Hannover. Under the leadership and at the suggestion of Professor Wenchao Li, endowed Leibniz professor at Leibniz Universität Hannover, a number of institutions are planning joint events.


Leibniz Universität Hannover Conducts Comprehensive Review of Nazi Past


Leibniz Universität Hannover is conducting a comprehensive review of a specific chapter in its history through the Senate Task Force on the Awarding and Withdrawal of Titles during the Nazi Era. The Task Force has given its report to this university body on the injustices caused by ideology at the Institute of Technology in the period of 1933 - 1945.
