The criteria by which scholarships are awarded are very varied. Decisive for the awarding of a scholarship is mainly an above-average performance, but also social involvement, cultural interests or belonging to a particular faith. The effort required for making an application can take several days and the whole process may extend over a period of weeks – however, it is worth taking the trouble as scholarships do not have to be repaid.
Leibniz Universität Hannover provides the opportunity of applying for a Germany scholarship (Deutschlandstipendium) or a Lower Saxony scholarship (Niedersachsenstipendium). The available funding programmes and their respective terms and conditions can be found on the following pages.
