Course Content

The architecture degree course at Leibniz Universität Hannover enables students to decide for themselves which courses are suitable for their future field of work. The bachelor’s programme comprises six semesters in which modules are taken from the fields of “Design and Drafting”, “History and Theory” and “Construction and Engineering”. Foundation courses in these three areas include building design, town and landscape, creative design, architecture sociology, history of architecture, building materials and building construction, where students learn basic principles that are applied in parallel cooperation modules, taken for example from building theory and building services engineering, building physics and building construction or building and cities. In the 5th and 6th semesters students have a wide range of special subject modules to choose from, allowing them to follow their own interests or specialise in certain areas. Students are examined by continuous assessment, for example in supervised assignments, written examinations or presentations. The programme is completed with a bachelor’s thesis. Afterwards, students have the opportunity to embark on a four-semester master’s programme.
