Degree Courses

  • Bachelor’s (single subject degree)

Description of the Subject

Computer-assisted simulation and virtual reality techniques have become established in the development of new industrial products. The construction of the tallest building in the world would not, for example, have been possible without computer-based planning and calculation methods. In the car industry, virtual crash tests have all but superseded expensive experiments, and in medicine computer-based methods of calculation provide new insights into the body and create new opportunities for innovative methods of treatment. Computational engineering is the basis for methods of calculation that allow for the representation and modelling of scientific processes and their solutions. The interdisciplinary curriculum in computational engineering covers a wide area from all classical engineering disciplines and parts of computer science to applied mathematics.
