Functional and Applied Linguistics

Exploring English and German Linguistics

Starting from a functional observation of language, the course explores the interaction between functional and applied linguistics. The main focus includes grammatical terminology as well as linguistic change, language variation and usage, taking German and English as examples. In the second year, students may choose between a theoretical and an applied linguistic specialisation.
