Mechatronics = Mechanics and Electronics
Mechatronics is a still very new subject, in which the interactions between mechanical and electronic components are investigated and taught. New developments in vehicles, aeroplanes, machine tools, media technology or medical engineering are increasingly dependent on the interactions of both aspects. Examples are: anti-lock braking systems and airbags in automotive engineering, robots in automation processes, modern machine tools, and also CD players and DVD recorders.
