Developing, Optimising and Using Plant Production
In recent years, biotechnology has developed into one of the key technologies of the 21st century. A number of specialised applied fields have evolved, breaking down more and more the boundaries between disciplines such as biology, chemistry, biochemistry and the traditional “green sciences” i.e. agricultural and horticultural sciences. Plant biotechnology encompasses the development, optimisation and use of biotechnological processes for innovation and improving the efficiency of plant production. It also opens up new opportunities for improved sustainability of production.
