Holdings

The holdings of the German National Library of Science and Technology and University Library Hannover (TIB/UB) comprise a total of 8.2 million volumes, microforms and CD-ROMs as well as subscriptions to 21,000 general and specialist journals. Of these, approx. 7.3 million are media units, 18,000 are technical and scientific journals, and approx. 1.2 million media units as well as 3,000 journals concerning the arts and social sciences. The holdings also contain conference reports, research reports, patent specifications, norms, standards, dissertations as well as Eastern European and East Asian specialist literature.

Hannover University Archives

The university archive undertakes the tasks of a state archive. For this purpose it archives documents of permanent value which have been generated by the university administration, the academic and student self-government, the central facilities as well as in the faculties and their attached scientific facilities. Since 2005 Hannover University Archive has been under the organisational authority of the university library.
