Eisenhart lift and its applications

The Eisenhart lift is a specific geometrization of the Newtonian mechanics in which a dynamical system with N degrees of freedom is embedded into the null geodesics of a Lorentzian metric in (N+2)–dimensional spacetime. In this talk, we review Eisenhart’s construction and discuss its applications to spacetimes with hidden symmetries, higher derivative theories, and cosmology.
