New Postdoc Funding from the DFG - Introduction of the Walter Benjamin Programme

The new Walter Benjamin Programme aims at researchers who want to carry out an independent research project at an early stage of their career after completing their doctorate. The aim is to support mobility and foster future development. Researchers can apply for a position (or rotation position) in Germany or a scholarship abroad for a maximum of 2 years.

DFG-Funding of Junior Research Groups in the field of AI

The German Research Foundation (DFG) supports Emmy Noether junior research groups in the field of "Artificial Intelligence Methods". The aim of this call is to attract the next generation of highly qualified scientists with a focus on AI methods by opening up career options with a high degree of autonomy at an early stage.


This call is addressed to persons from various fields whose research profile is located in the field of method development within the AI. Eligible for funding are projects on all research questions that address the development or further development of AI methods of any kind, as well as the development of theories on methods and the analysis and evaluation of AI methods. Equally eligible are projects in the field of AI methods for modelling, process development and modelling, performance evaluation or architecture.


Requirements for application: Postdoctoral candidates and temporary junior professors in an early phase of their academic career as well as holders of comparable temporary qualification professorships may apply.
