Students with caregiving responsibilities for children often face special challenges that require individual solutions. Many questions and issues arise: financing, childcare, maternity leave, coping with and organising everyday study life... Leibniz University Hannover aims to support students with family responsibilities so that they can study successfully. Take advantage of the wide range of support services available.

Family Service

The first point of contact for questions about studying when you have a child is the Family Service of the Equal Opportunities Office. The team provides individual advice on the following topics:

  • Pregnancy and maternity leave
  • Planning your course of study (leave of absence)
  • Exams and internships
  • Childcare

In addition, students with children can take advantage of various workshops and coaching sessions free of charge.
