With its stunning coral reefs, unique wildlife and the world-famous outback, Australia has everything to offer that makes a stay abroad special. Fascinating sights are therefore not only to be found in the megacity of Sydney. National parks and cultural sites, such as the Kakadu National Park or the "holy mountain" Uluru are also worth a visit to get to know and experience the culture and life in Australia.
A semester abroad in Australia not only allows you to fulfill your bucket list. The studies broaden the academic and personal horizon, while also newly formed international friendships and the lifelong connection to the adopted country make the stay abroad unforgettable.

Rarely have I experienced a country that is as diverse as Australia. From great nature to the people to the food and the diverse animals.

Partner Universities: APartner universities: At the US partner universities of Leibniz Universität Hannover, it is possible to carry out study, research and practical stays of varying duration. For example, one-semester stays (free of tuition fees), summer school programmes, research stays of at least four weeks duration for the preparation of a student research project or thesis, internships in institutes and research facilities, language assistance and doctoral studies are possible. LUH has a partnership with the University of Wollongong in Wollongong, Australia.

International Student Exchange Program (ISEP): LUH is a member of the International Student Exchange Programs (ISEP), a consortium of over 200 universities worldwide, and through this consortium LUH students can spend a tuition-free semester abroad at one of over 140 universities in North America or Oceania. The programme is open to students from all Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes at Leibniz Universität Hannover.

Freemover*in:  As a "freemover", you organise your stay abroad outside of an exchange programme. Here you have a very wide choice of universities, but since there is no exchange contract with LUH, you have to pay the tuition fees. You can apply directly to foreign universities or through an organisation such as World of Students, GoStralia-GoAmerica, International Education Centre, and College Contact.

Internships: There is also the possibility of doing an internship in Australia. Students in the fields of natural sciences, geoscience, engineering, medicine, and computer science may complete an internship in Australia via the RISE Worldwide programme. Teacher training students and graduates of teacher training programmes may complete an internship in Australia via the DAAD scholarship programme "Lehramt.international".
