Special call for research internships in Canada (RISE Worldwide)

The call by RISE Worldwide (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) for applications for a research internship in Canada is open from the end of July until September 18th, 2019.
The earliest start of an internship is summer 2020. The duration is 10 to 12 weeks.
The DAAD is working with the Canadian exchange organization Mitacs in the Globalink Program.
The offer is addressed to all students in undergraduate graduate programs from Natural Sciences, Engineering, Medicinie, Psychology and Computer Engineering.


The scholarship entails:


• a monthly DAAD full scholarship rate
• a one-time travel allowanceeinmalig eine Reisekostenpauschale
• health, injury and personal liablity insurance
• mentoring by a local (Globalink) mentor.


Application for an internship through RISE Worldwide in Canada: end of July until September 18th, 2019.
Duration of internship: 10 to 12 weeks
earliest start: May 1st, 2020; latest start: July 31st, 2020 (in consultation)

Opportunities to Study Abroad in Canada

The International Office offers various options for studying in Canada.

1. A semester abroad at one of our partner universities,  University of New Brunswick and  King's University College at the University of Western Ontario .

2. A semester abroad at Brock University, Laurentian University, University of Regina or Thompson Rivers University within the framework of the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP), via ISEP Exchange or ISEP Direct.

 

Other Programmes

In addition, the German-Canadian Society (DKG) offers internships in Canada.

Students in the fields of natural sciences, geoscience, and engineering sciences, as well as in medicine and computer sciences may complete an internship via RISE Worldwide .

Teacher training students and graduates of teacher training programmes may complete an internship via the DAAD scholarship programme  "Lehramt.international" .

There are partner universities at faculty level for students at the respective faculty.

Throughout the programme, students benefit from comprehensive support. The International Office will contact the partner university, the host university will then assist incoming students with all matters regarding their stay, including help with their timetable, finding accommodation and furnishing their room, as well as arrangements for their arrival in order to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

ISEP

Students enrolled at Leibniz University Hannover may spend a semester abroad at one of four Canadian universities within the framework of the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP).

Students can choose either ISEP Direct or the less expensive ISEP Exchange programme to spend a period abroad in Canada.

Throughout the programme, students benefit from comprehensive support. The International Office will contact the partner university, the host university will then assist incoming students with all matters regarding their stay, including help with their timetable, finding accommodation and furnishing their room, as well as arrangements for their arrival in order to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

FEES AND COSTS

Total costs for a study period abroad in Canada range from €6,000 to €10,000 (including board and lodging, as well as flights).

This applies to periods abroad via ISEP as well as to stays at a partner university.
