Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso
The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) was founded in Valparaíso in 1925. It is one of the most prestigious institutions in the Chilean higher education system. Currently, around 13,000 students are enrolled there. With its 9 faculties and 53 academic programmes, the PUCV strives to foster diversity on campus. Valparaíso is Chile’s most important port city. It is situated in the central part of the country and is not only the capital of the region of the same name, but also home to the country’s Congress (Parliament). The city has a population of around 300,000.
Under the partnership, the stay is limited to one semester. LUH students can enrol on any of the degree programmes offered at this university. The semesters run from March to July and August to December. Applications are accepted from the second semester of the Bachelor’s degree onwards. A Spanish language level of B2 is required. Proof of this can be provided in the form of a language course certificate or a letter from the university.

Universidad Austral de Chile
The Universidad Austral de Chile is a public Chilean university based in Valdivia. It was founded on 7 September 1954 and is one of the country’s seven traditional universities, all of which were established before 1980. The university has nine faculties. Its facilities are spread across the Isla Teja and Miraflores campuses in Valdivia and a branch in Puerto Montt. Manfred Max-Neef, winner of the 1983 Alternative Nobel Prize, served as its rector for several years.
Under the partnership, the stay is limited to one or, at most, two semesters. LUH students can enrol on any of the degree programmes offered at this university. The academic terms run from February to July and August to December. Applications are accepted from the second semester of the Bachelor’s degree onwards. The university recommends a minimum Spanish language level of B1, preferably B2. Proof of language proficiency is required for the application.

Universidad de Talca
The University of Talca (UTalca) is a state university founded in 1981. It is located in Talca, the regional capital of Maule and the region of the same name, in a valley between the Cordilleras de Costa and the Andes. Today, it is one of Chile’s most prestigious state universities, currently home to approximately 11,500 students. The agreement with UTalca is a faculty agreement for students of the natural sciences. Please contact the relevant faculty representatives first.
Under the partnership, the stay is limited to one, or a maximum of two, semesters. Students from the Faculty of Natural Sciences can take natural science courses at this university. The semesters run from February to July and August to December. Applications are accepted from the second semester of the Bachelor’s degree onwards. The university recommends a language level of B1/B2.

Expenses
Students are responsible for covering the costs of travel, health insurance, accommodation and meals, etc. The cost of accommodation and meals for a semester varies depending on the type of accommodation, the cost of living in the relevant region or city, and personal requirements.
