Short Description

Are you interested in continuing to work and studying in parallel? Two options are available for this in the subject of Civil Engineering with a specialisation in Structural Engineering.

The distance learning degree programme is aimed at civil engineers and enthusiasts who would like to adapt their academic training to their professional demands and earn a master’s degree while working. The course content is oriented towards the modules of the on-campus degree programme. While remaining in employment, students can tackle the study material at home at their own pace. Students need only come to Hannover to take examinations.

Alternatively, students may take individual courses. This option is directed at civil engineers seeking to undertake continuing education in specific areas or wishing to get a taster of the master’s degree programme. Although individual modules are fee-paying courses, they count towards the master’s degree programme if students decide at a later stage to complete the whole programme.

Course Content

  • Mechanics and computational mechanics
  • Building physics
  • Building materials
  • Geotechnical engineering
  • Concrete construction
  • Risk and reliability
  • Steel construction
  • Structural analysis
