Short Description
Industrial Science involves the interdisciplinary analysis of labour, including the associated social and organisational framework conditions. Emphasis is placed on the development of scientifically based concepts for designing work with people in mind.
The supplementary programme leading to a certificate, called the “Continuing Education and Training Course in Industrial Science”, enables students to gain a broad understanding of industrial science, taking special account of approaches in human resources management, leadership and organisational research.
In the Continuing Education and Training Course in Industrial Science, participants gain a critical understanding of the key approaches, theories and methods in industrial science. They also develop the skills required to utilise scientific findings for the concrete analysis of working conditions and social framework conditions. Students learn how to give scientifically based and ethically reflected judgements on issues related to industrial science and to defend their argumentation. They also learn how to use their skills in their profession and in organisational change processes involving the design of work with people and their health in mind.

Courses are held as block course, usually over two consecutive days, often including Saturday. Courses are usually delivered by two lecturers, which has been shown to work well in previous experience in the Continuing Education and Training Course in Industrial Science. On average, participants attend 3-4 courses per semester; however, some only attend just one course, and others manage 14 courses per semester.
