Hygiene Measures Published

Concepts provide overview of hygiene measures to be observed in LUH buildings – especially during examinations.

Leibniz University Hannover aims to prevent the spread of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, as well as to protect staff and students while breaking the chain of infection within the population and maintaining day-to-day operations at LUH.

In this context, implementing provisions with regard to hygiene is essential.

In cooperation with the LUH emergency committee, the Presidential Board has resolved general hygiene measures.

In addition, hygiene measures for written and oral examinations have been implemented.

Templates for signs illustrating general hygiene measures are available on the corona website (FAQ 2.1.3).

Hygiene measures implemented at LUH are based on the recommended course of action for preventing infections issued by the federal and state governments as well as the Robert Koch Institute.

LUH facilities should adapt the general hygiene measures taking into account specific requirements. Based on individual hygiene measures implemented within the faculties, examinations suspended in winter semester 2019/2020 are expected to take place from the end of May.

The following instructions must be observed by all members of the university:

  • Wherever possible, people must maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres to each other.
  • If a minimum distance of 1.5 metres cannot be ensured, a face mask or covering must be worn to cover the nose and mouth.
  • Hands must be washed (min. 30 seconds) and dried with paper towels directly upon entering the building.
  • Anyone experiencing symptoms indicating a COVID-19 infection must not enter LUH buildings.
