Message from university management to LUH employees

Dear colleagues,

Leibniz University Hannover is part of a strong international network in teaching, research and transfer. Staff and students collaborate with colleagues around the world in numerous contexts. The Presidential Board of LUH explicitly promotes international networks. In the context of the spread of the coronavirus - especially in China - we ask LUH members and students to take special care regarding travel to and from China:

Until further notice, the Presidential Board urges staff and students to postpone any business trips and research or study periods to China, as well as to cancel participation in conferences taking place in China.

Anyone who has recently travelled to or returned from China, should be wary of symptoms they may have developed and seek medical attention immediately. Please always phone in advance and inform your health care provider that you have recently travelled to China.

If required, staff can contact the occupational safety department (health management section) at LUH: betriebsarzt@zuv.uni-hannover.de, Tel. +49 511 762 5763.

Students from China are a vital part of the international academic community at LUH. Chinese students and staff who need to extend their stay in Germany due to the current situation are welcome to contact the International Office: https://www.uni-hannover.de/de/universitaet/organisation/praesidialstab-und-stabsstellen/internationales

Thank you for your vigilance. It is of extreme value in the interest of all members of Leibniz University Hannover.

Kind regards
Prof. Dr. Volker Epping
President
