Winter semester 2020/2021

Dear colleagues,

Winter semester 2020/2021 commences on 12 October, it will be our second semester affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your hard work and dedication in preparing and planning this semester in a professional and student-oriented manner – despite all challenges. In this context, I would like to express my gratitude to the members of staff in all facilities and all status groups at Leibniz University Hannover. On a positive note, the situation over the past months has taught us many things and we have succeeded in offering our students a summer semester with valuable learning opportunities. I am confident that we can achieve the same outcome in the upcoming semester, even though there are still many issues and challenges, including the hybrid form of the winter semester, the matter of face-to-face and online formats or the constant necessity to adapt. We can only overcome these challenges together, by taking into consideration current requirements and regulations of the state of Lower Saxony, and by resolving issues as they arise. University management will do its utmost to support you.

I wish you all the best and a good, constructive winter semester 2020/2021!

Kind regards,
Prof. Dr. Volker Epping
President of Leibniz University Hannover
