COVID-19 vaccine – Vaccination prioritisation for staff employed in higher education

Dear colleagues,

Good news for our university regarding vaccination prioritisation:

At the end of April, coronavirus vaccination regulations have once more been updated. As per section 4 article 1 (8) of the regulations governing immunisation against the coronavirus, all members of staff employed in higher education are entitled to receive an COVID-19 vaccine with increased priority. The same applies to academic assistants and student assistants.

Please contact your facility manager or your head of institute in order to obtain a document confirming that you are employed at LUH. A template can be found here:

This confirmation may be used to book an appointment at vaccination centres or in order to be added to a waiting list. Alternatively, you can contact your GP.

University management is currently in the process of assessing possible solutions for offering vaccinations at LUH. However, we are at a very early stage of planning.

Please protect yourself and others by getting a vaccination, therefore making a vital – and perhaps the most important – contribution towards overcoming the coronavirus pandemic.

Yours sincerely,
Prof. Dr. Volker Epping
President
