LUH Campus – Safer Science! – LUH wristbands facilitate access

Dear students,

As explained in yesterday’s email sent by the President with regard to “Starting on-campus learning at Leibniz University Hannover”, the 3G rule will be used for regulating access to Leibniz University Hannover from 4 October.

In order to implement the 3G rule in the context of on-campus learning in a feasible way, as well as to facilitate monitoring compliance, the Presidential Board has decided to provide coloured LUH access wristbands for vaccinated and recovered students. These bands can be worn around the wrist permanently and can be replaced, if necessary. Wristbands will be issued from 04.10.2021 and may be used on a voluntary (!) basis.

This concept has been developed in cooperation with the Senate work group “AG Gute Lehre”, where all status groups are represented, especially students. We presume that this solution will enable us to monitor compliance quickly, thus avoiding long queues at checkpoints. This way, we hope that your lectures and courses will be disrupted as little as possible.

LUH access wristbands will be issued centrally from 04.10.2021 at the ServiceCenter in the atrium of the main university building ("Lichthof”), in the SportCAMPUS foyer as well as in external pavilions located at the side entrance of the Welfenschloss (AudiMax entrance, from 11.10.2021). Moreover, the faculties will issue LUH access wristbands within the scope of individual campaigns.

To avoid unnecessary queues and delays at the central issuing points, please book a timeslot at the respective location via Stud.IP in order to collect your LUH access wristband.

Please bring your vaccination certificate (fully vaccinated at least 14 days ago) or proof of recovery, ideally provided via digital means of authorization (CoronaAPP etc.), as well as an identity card including a photo.

We look forward to seeing you in the winter semester!

Kind regards,

Julia Gillen
Vice President for Teaching and Academic Programmes
