Message to LUH students

Limited availability of study areas at the end of the year

Dear students,

Over the Christmas holidays and New Year, Leibniz University Hannover will reduce its energy consumption. Among other things, the heating systems in the main university building will be turned down. Study areas in the atrium of the main university building ("Lichthof") will not be available between 23 December and 3 January. Moreover, study areas on the 14th floor as well as the PC lab located on the 2nd floor of Conti-Campus will be closed between 21 December and 3 January. From 4 January, these areas will be available again and may be booked by students of all faculties www.zqs.uni-hannover.de/en/qs/lernraum/buchung/.

Furthermore, TIB facilities will only be available to a limited extent. All locations will be closed between 24 and 27 December, as well as between 31 December and 3 January. However, TIB Science/Technology, TIB Conti-Campus and TIB Social Sciences will be available between 28 and 30 December. Depending on the respective location, the usual study areas in these facilities may be accessed until 8 p.m. or until 6 p.m. For detailed information, please refer to the TIB website.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that students must wear a face mask or covering in all LUH buildings - including TIB facilities - until they have reached their workspace. In addition, please comply with the distancing requirements, which must be observed at all times and also apply in outdoor areas at LUH. In particular, this applies to areas where people are likely to gather. Please demonstrate solidarity and maintain sufficient distance on campus. Where this is not possible, please wear a face mask or covering!

In the meantime, you can stay up to date by visiting our FAQ website at www.uni-hannover.de/corona, which provides an overview of current regulations.

Yours sincerely,
