Digital tools support your (online) studies. This website provides an overview of available tools and services.
The official email communication at the LUH will be send only to your student email address – not to your external and privately used accounts. To receive important information via email (e. g. notifications from Stud.IP, registration deadlines or updates on the corona situation) all enrolled students have to use their official student email address, which can easily be activated in your IDM account.
Please note: Despite of the similarities between the mail adress and the web adress of Stud.IP, your student emails can not be retrieved via Stud.IP. Please use the LUIS web mail service in you browser (sogo.stud.uni-hannover.de) or a secure E-Mail-Client.

Online training on using digital media in your studies
Courses within the scope of the qualification programme "digitaLe” established by ZQS/elsa and the Institute of Natural Science Education (IDN) enable students to discover new learning formats
- for presenting academic content,
- for collaborative projects and group work, as well as
- for digital and independent learning.
The “digitaLe” foundation module comprises an introduction to terminology as well as instructions – e.g. for creating explanatory videos – and tips for legal-compliant use of visual aids.

Online seminars on academic and professional key skills
In the summer semester, the ZQS/Key Competencies department is offering numerous seminars with credit points in online formats, including the topic “digital work”. Detailed information will be provided on this website as soon as possible.

Apart from a few exceptions, the Leibniz Language Centre is offering an entire (online) programme for 13 languages. Further information can be found on the following website.
2. Tools for studying online
The following provides an overview of digital resources for studying online, such as file storage, editing texts in teams or tools facilitating communication in learning groups or virtual discussions.
Please always use up-to-date antivirus software (e.g. software provided by LUIS) and make sure that you only use the ZQS/elsa services and links recommended on this website. Other tools may be used at your own risk. Please also consider possible issues that may arise with regard to IT security and data protection.

Virtual discussions and organising learning groups
Would you like to discuss texts or assignments in a seminar with your learning or work group? Try out the video conferencing tool Jitsi Meet and create virtual meeting rooms. Other features include a chat and screen sharing function.
In addition, study groups in Stud.IP may be used for organisational matters.

Analysing statistical data
Trial licences for SPSS Statistics provided by IBM have been extended. Instead of 14 days, licences will be valid until 15 June 2020. This may be particularly useful for students currently unable to access PC labs or institute resources.
3. Student advisory services provided via email, telephone or online
Leibniz University Hannover provides numerous advisory services for students facing challenges in the course of their studies. Since personal appointments on campus are currently not possible, consultations may be arranged vie email and held by telephone or online. The following provides an overview of topics and central advisory services.
