Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) actively supports a university culture that promotes diversity and equal opportunities. These values are reflected in the current Diversity Concept, which is now due to be revised and updated to address current and future needs. The existing concept, which was approved by the Senate in 2018, is in force until the end of this year. The university’s Diversity Council has therefore initiated a process to revise and further develop the concept. The aim is to define new goals and measures that reflect future demands.
The university is relying on a participatory approach for the work on the concept. All members of the university community – students and staff – are called upon to take an active part in the development process. Various participatory formats will be offered for this purpose. A central kick-off workshop to gather recommendations and ideas will take place on 5 November 2025 from 10 am to 1 pm. It is being organised by the Equal Opportunities Office and the Diversity Council. Those interested can register by sending a mail to info@chancenvielfalt.uni-hannover.de; the precise location will be provided following registration. Suggestions and ideas can also be sent to this email address. Additional dialogue formats are planned for the coming months.
An online survey (in German) has also been set up based on the motto “Diversity Concept update – ideas, visions and wishes”. You are welcome to contribute your needs and suggestions via this survey. The submissions will be collected in a digital idea box.
