Presidential Board asks LUH members to self-isolate on a voluntary basis in the event of illness

The COVID-19 quarantine regulations of the state of Lower Saxony end on 31 January 2023. Among other measures, these regulations included a period of five days of self-isolation in the event of a COVID-19 infection as well as mandatory confirmation of self-conducted rapid-test results via PCR testing. Self-isolation requirements following a positive self-conducted test as well as PCR testing to confirm the result will no longer be mandatory after 31 January.

Nevertheless, the Presidential Board urges all LUH members to continue testing in the event of any symptoms indicating a COVID-19 infection and – in the event of a positive test result that does not affect their ability to work – discuss options for working from home with their supervisor. These periods will not count towards the individual telecommuting quota. The university strives to prevent coronavirus infections among staff and their families as well as to maintain the working capacities of departments. These recommendations explicitly apply to COVID-19 infections and other infectious diseases.
