New Semester Starts at Leibniz University Hannover

Professor Volker Epping, President of LUH, welcomes new students

Beginning of the new semester: Professor Volker Epping, President of LUH, will welcome new students on Thursday 11 October 2018 in the atrium ("Lichthof") of the university''s main building at Welfengarten 1.

The event addresses students in humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

New students, who would like to get involved in a student organisation, can look around information stalls in front of the "Welfenschloss" from 8.30 a.m. Among others, the initiatives Arbeiterkind.de, LGBTQ+ (Queer Keller) and AKAFLIEG, as well as the university choir will introduce themselves. The stage performances will take place between 9 and 10 a.m. President Volker Epping will welcome new bachelor students at Leibniz University Hannover. Afterwards, guests from different areas of the university will present a stage programme guided by the motto "Ready, study, go!" Sparkasse Hannover and MOIA sponsor the event.

Students in Economics and Management

The event starts at 8.30 a.m. and will take place in the auditorium building at Königsworther Platz 1. The welcome event in the main building will be broadcasted in the lecture halls via video stream between 9 and 10 a.m.

Students in Engineering

The welcome event and the stage programme will take place between 11.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. in the atrium ("Lichthof"). From 11 a.m., new students can look around information stalls from various student organisations.

Friday 12 October 2018 will be guided by the motto "Question Time". From 9.30 a.m., students will get to know many services and facilities at Leibniz University Hannover. The stage programme "Question Time" starts at 2 p.m. Students from the service facilities at LUH will reveal tips and tricks for a successful start at university, including the range of services available at the ServiceCenter, university sports, Wi-Fi on campus, Stud.IP, as well as features of the LeibnizCard.
