Applications of algebraic geometry

Algebraic geometry occupies a central place in modern mathematics. It has deep connections with various parts of mathematics. It is also deeply related to mathematical physics and has found applications in a wide range of topics. In this talk I will introduce some elements of algebraic geometry and then discuss some applications.
