Balanced metrics on complex domains

A Kaehler metric on a complex manifold is called balanced if, roughly speaking, its potential is the reciprocal of the reproducing (Bergman) kernel of the space of square-integrable holomorphic sections.

The talk will survey some recent developments concerning the existence and uniqueness of such metrics on complex domains, and indicate some open problems in the area.
