Outgoing Week - Around the World with Leibniz

Are you studying at LUH and would like to spend part of your studies in abroad and experience a different culture? Then check out "Around the World with Leibniz“ to the Outgoing Week from December 4 - 8, 2023.

Leibniz University Hannover offers you a broad variety of opportunities to broaden your mind in an international way: You can go abroad for a semester or a whole year, do an internship, a summer school or a research stay at one of our partner universities. There are plentiful opportunities waiting for you on all six continents! During the week, we will present the different regions, partner universities and support opportunities for a stay abroad with Leibniz University.

Join „Around the World with Leibniz“ and learn more about exchange programmes, tips and tricks, funding opportunities und let yourself be inspired by stories of former outgoing students from LUH. The staff of the International Office are happy to answer your questions and support your plans. Make use of this unique opportunity and join us for a journey „around the World with Leibniz”!

Programme

  • Monday, 04.12.23

    11 a.m. to 12 p.m. General information event (online)
    As a kick-off event, we will give you an overview of the international opportunities at Leibniz University and introduce the Outgoing Week.

    2 to 4 p.m. Study Abroad-Fair (in the International Office)
    The International Office will be hosting a study abroad fair on all aspects of studying abroad with Leibniz University. Come by and get information at the various stands.

  • Tuesday, 05.12.23

    10 to 11 a.m. K for Korea (in the International Office, room 009 and online).
    Paula, former student of Yonsei University, presents university life in Korea and gives tips for a semester abroad.

    11 am to 1 pm Presentation of IT Vellore, IIT Indore and Tata Global Internships (online)
    Universities from Indore and Vellore, among others, introduce themselves. In addition, Tata presents internship opportunities in India.

    1 to 2 p.m. Going Abroad with the Pedagogical Exchange Service (online)
    A stay abroad as an international teacher? It's possible with the Pedagogical Exchange Service (PAD)! Find out from our PAD ambassador how it works.

    2 to 3 p.m. Semester abroad in China after the Corona Pandemic (in the Hoschul Office for International Affairs, Room 009 and online)
    A semester abroad in China is possible again. Former DAAD Lektor Valentina Ly and LUH students in China report.

    2 to 4 p.m. Workshop on "Intercultural Critical Incidents in the Context of (High) School" (in presence)

    4 to 5 p.m. Semester abroad in Asia (in the International Office, room 009 and online)
    How do I apply for a semester abroad in Asia? (China, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, India)

  • Wednesday, 06.12.23

    11 am to 12 pm Gain international experience with EULiST (online)
    EULiST is an alliance of 10 European universities that work particularly closely together. Here you can find out what opportunities EULiST offers you to study abroad!

    12 to 1 p.m. Mechanical Engineering general information event (IK Haus seminar room 101/103, building 8132)
    Here we present the study abroad opportunities offered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, talk about the application process and answer your questions.

    2 to 3 p.m. Study and internship abroad with Erasmus+ / testimonials from former outgoings (International Office, Room 009)
    Would you like to study or do an internship in Europe? Find out about the exchange opportunities within Europe through the Erasmus+ programme.

    4 to 5 p.m. Promos scholarship and financing options for stays abroad (online)
    What funding options are there for stays abroad? What are the selection criteria for the Promos scholarship?

  • Thursday, 07.12.23

    9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Open House at the Leibniz Language Centre (LLC)
    Crash courses, language tandems, language learning with AI - come and visit the Leibniz Language Centre and find out about the many opportunities to improve your foreign language skills or even learn a new language!

    10 am to 12 pm Pop-Up AuslandsInfo Stand at the LLC (LLC)
    Stop by to learn more about the different study abroad opportunities at LUH!

    11 am to 12 pm Study abroad opportunities in Latin America with a focus on university partnerships (online)
    Here we present the study abroad and funding opportunities. We will also talk about the application process and answer your questions.

    2 to 3 p.m. Exchange between former outgoing students and incoming students (in the International Office, Room 009)
    Incoming and outgoing students talk about study visits to Latin America/Germany.

    from 16:15 hrs Application procedure for semesters abroad (in presence or/and online, to be announced)
    Here we present the study abroad opportunities at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, talk about the application process and answer your questions.

  • Friday, 08.12.23

    10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Information event on stays abroad and offers for internationalisation@home in the teacher training programme (online)
    There are many opportunities here at LUH to gain international experience during your teacher training.

    11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Study abroad opportunities in North America and Oceania with a focus on university partnerships (Online)
    Here we present the opportunities abroad, talk about the application process and answer your questions.

    1 to 2 p.m. Info event Freemover/self-organised stays (Online)
    Going abroad as a freemover? Here we talk about this way to go abroad - what you need to know and how to find a place.

    (Cancelled) 2 to 3 p.m. Exchange with former outgoing students (in the International Office, Room 009)
    Exchange ideas with students who have already spent time abroad or are currently planning to do so.

    3 to 4 p.m. The ISEP Programme (Online)
    You can do a great semester abroad through ISEP! Here we present the programme and answer your questions.
