Since 2003, the building at Herrenhäuser Straße 8 has been owned by the university and used by the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Sciences. The design is based on the Bauhaus style and contrasts with the baroque park next to the building. The building is divided into three sections surrounding a spacious forecourt. The entrance hall is located in the central part of the building. Here you can see ongoing exhibitions or design models that students can make in the university's workspaces.

The building was constructed in 1965 for the former “Werkkunstschule”, which became part of Fachhochschule Hannover (today: Hochschule Hannover) in 1971. After moving to the former Expo site and following various renovations, the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Sciences moved into the building in 2003. The advantage was that the department could now be housed in one building, and that it was located on the university's spatial development axis.
