Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)

The Institute of Meteorology and Climatology invites applications for the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100%) to be appointed the next possible date. The position is limited until 31 August 2022.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Contribution to the BMBF joint project „Model-based city planning and application in climate change – Phase 2 (MOSAIK-2)" funded within the framework „Urban Climate Under Change“, and in which the urban climate model PALM-4U will be further developed
  • Further development and application of the Multi-agent system implemented in PALM-4U and its coupling to the traffic flow model MATSim

Employment conditions

We search for a motivated and proactive candidate with a master university degree in the fields of Meteorology, Industrial Engineering with specialization in traffic, Traffic Engineering, Information Systems or with similar background.

A completed PhD is desirable. We expect excellent knowledge in high-level language programming, desirably with Fortran. Theoretical and working knowledge in multi-agent systems and microscale modeling of atmospheric flows is beneficial. Very good communication skills in English language, both oral and written are desirable.

Part-time employment is possible.
