Leibniz Young Investigator Grants

The "Leibniz Young Investigator Grants" will replace "Pathways into Research II" ("Wege in die Forschung II") as an internal project funding scheme for postdoctoral researchers. The Grants will provide excellent junior researchers with an opportunity to gain experience managing their own research project.

Important information: Application deadline postponed

The deadline of the university's internal funding program "Leibniz Young Investigator Grants" is postponed to spring 2021. Please visit our website regularly for current information. We will shortly publish the deadline for submission of applications here.

Coronavirus pandemic: extended eligibility period

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the associated restrictions on working conditions at Leibniz University Hannover, the individual eligibility period for proposal submission within the internal project funding scheme for postdoctoral researchers “Leibniz Young Investigator Grants”, which would have expired by the deadline, is extended by three months. Note that the Two-Year Rule on calculating the eligibility period (date of thesis defense) remains unaffected by this extension.

Postdoctoral researchers of Leibniz University Hannover are eligible to apply for funding, who are employed by the university at the time of application. The application must occur within 2 years of completion of the doctoral degree (excluding periods for childcare and practical training (“Referendariat”)). The two-year period shall be calculated from the date of the oral examination (viva voce).
