Approximately 30,500 students are currently enrolled

Ready, study go! Prof. Dr. Volker Epping, President of Leibniz University Hannover, has welcomed first-semester students. Approximately 30,500 students are currently enrolled in the winter semester, more than 4,500 of which are first-semester students. Slam poet Tobias Kunze, who presented Hannover during the cities'' application to become "Capital of Culture 2025" in Berlin, attended the welcome event for new students in the atrium of the main university building ("Lichthof"). In addition, Prof. Dr. Kerstin Kremer (Biology Education) as well as members of the students'' union (AStA) explained the areas in which they are active. Sparkasse Hannover and MOIA sponsored the event.

Following the welcome event, new students will have the opportunity to find out more about the services provided at Leibniz University Hannover. In the "Lichthof", various members of staff will introduce the services at the university, revealing tips and tricks for a successful start to their studies. Topics include the range of services available at the ServiceCenter, the University Sports Centre, Wi-Fi on campus, Stud.IP, as well as features of the LeibnizCard.
