Colourful activities and lots of entertainment in the Welfengarten

A colourful promenade invites guests to discover, feast and linger: On Thursday 13 July, from 4 p.m., the university's popular summer event will take place behind the main university building ("Welfenschloss"). Faculties, institutes and central facilities of Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) will offer culinary highlights, creative hands-on activities as well as some exhibits.

Whether building the Leonardo da Vinci bridge at the stand of the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Sciences, the tug-of-war competition of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science or experiments organised by the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics: there will be plenty of opportunities to test your own skills on this day. Artificial intelligence and its applications in science will be the focus of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

Moreover, the University Sports Centre has organised a variety of sports games, such as slacklining or Viking Chess, while the representatives for employees with disabilities offer a blind football goal. Furthermore, ZQS table-top football is a great way to test your sporting skills. Various children's games are planned for the little ones.

The university groups HorsePower, Akakraft, Akaflieg and the Academic Sailing Club will be presenting exciting exhibits, including racing cars, vehicles, a glider and a sailboat. There will also be TIB's popular book flea market, where you can buy specialist books at affordable prices. LUH clothing or other products from the LUH merchandising range are available at the stand of Communications and Marketing.

There will also be a wide range of cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks. Sweet snacks such as crêpes, ice cream and popcorn will be available, as well as savoury treats from the grill, wraps and chips. There will also be an entertaining stage programme, with groups and bands from the University demonstrating their musical skills. In addition, dance groups from the University Sports Centre will perform.
