Guidelines for Sustainable Building Systems

Through innovative building processes and technologies, Leibniz University Hannover can set standards for sustainable building practices that are representative of future-oriented teaching and research. These guidelines are intended to highlight the various possibilities for planning and designing sustainable construction and refurbishment measures for university buildings and properties.

Sustainability refers primarily to the minimisation of buildings’ overall energy usage; the efficient use of land/soil, water and energy; and the reduction of CO2 emissions.
With these guidelines, Leibniz University Hannover aims to serve as an example and consistently achieve high energy-conservation standards.
