Student involvement in central bodies and committees is fundamental to the successful development of studies and teaching at LUH. The Presidential Board as well as the faculties want to encourage their students in getting involved and express the value of these voluntary activities.

There are different ways of recognition. You can find out more here.

Certificate & Credit Points

Inter-faculty committee work

For your involvement in an inter-faculty committee at LUH, you can receive a certificate or – depending on your degree programme – credit points in the area of key competencies.

The certificate makes your commitment being seen and is an ideal addition to your application documents later on. It is signed by the Vice President for Teaching and Academic Programmes at LUH.

Inter-faculty committees

Inter-faculty committees include: Senate, University Council, Presidium of the Student Council, LQL-Review-Team, Appointment Committee, Study Quality Committee, Senate Working Group on Good Teaching and EULiST Student Board.

  • When do I receive credit points and when do I receive a certificate?

Whether you receive credit points depends on your degree programme. Please ask for specific information at your dean of studies office. In some degree programmes you can also acquire credit points in the area of key competencies.

If credit points cannot be acquired, a certificate will be issued. This makes your commitment visible and can be an ideal addition to your application documents for later.

  • How many credit points can be acquired?

If most of the meetings have been attended (80 % attendance upwards), you’ll receive:

    • up to 4 credit points for one year's membership and participation in the
      • Senate
      • University Council
      • LQL-Review-Team
      • Presidium of the Student Council (President, Vice-President, Recorder of Minutes)

    • up to 2 credit points for participation in an Appointment Committee

    • up to 2 credit points for one year's activity in student or academic committees such as
      • Study Quality Committee
      • Senate Working Group on Good Teaching
      • EULiST Student Board
  • How does it work and whom can I contact?
    • Please have your involvement confirmed on the form for proofby the contact person (chair) of the respective inter-faculty committee.

    • Submit the signed proof to the ZQS/Key Competencies (to Mirjam Reale). You will obtain a certificate or transcript of records:
      • If credit points can be acquired according to your degree programme, you will obtain a corresponding certificate of achievement for submission to the Examinations Office.
      • If no credit points can be acquired, you will receive a certificate.

Please hand in the signed form for proof of your activity (PDF) and contact ZQS/Key Competencies:
