Introduction of facilities represented in the ServiceCenter in the main university building:
- Student Information Service
The Student Information Service handles queries from prospective students, students and graduates. The team is available via a hotline (+49 511 762-2020) or via email at studium@uni-hannover.de. - Student Advisory Services
The team of Student Advisory Services answers questions regarding practical aspects of your studies and gives advice on choosing the right degree programme. Orientation, information and guidance create transparency while ensuring that students are successful during all stages of their studies - including students with disabilities. - Admissions Office
Whether you would like to begin your studies in the first or in an advanced semester, whether applying for admission to a bachelor's or master's degree programme - the Admissions Office provides prospective students with important information regarding the allocation of places. - Examination Office
The Examination Office organises examinations for Diplom, bachelor's, master's and Magister degree programmes. Other duties include dealing with applications, granting or denying admission to examinations, checking deadlines and issuing certificates or notifications. - International Office
The International Office offers information and services for international students and members of staff regarding their studies or their research stay at Leibniz University Hannover. In addition, it provides advice and guidance for all those interested in spending a period abroad. The team is responsible for exchange programmes and provides information on grants and funding opportunities while maintaining international collaborations of LUH. - Student Services Hannover
Cafeterias, student accommodation, BAföG service: Studentenwerk Hannover (Student Services Organisation Hannover) is a central point of contact for many queries of LUH students.
Some facilities are located in separate rooms or buildings outside of the ServiceCenter. You can use this database to search for rooms and buildings on campus.

9.30 a.m. Foreign languages and transferable skills
- Leibniz Language Centre
Each semester, the Leibniz Language Centre offers about 220 language courses and other ways to learn languages for approximately 5,000 students – both within and outside of the lecture period. Moreover, it is one of the largest examination centres in Germany offering German language exams necessary for admission to university (DSH). - Centre for Quality Enhancement in Teaching and Learning: Transferable Skills
Learning strategies, preparing for examinations, academic writing, practical insights, additional qualifications or advice on applications: transferable skills are essential – during your studies, in the context of placements or when launching your career. The Centre for Quality Enhancement in Teaching and Learning (ZQS) supports students from day one.

Lectures in winter semester 2022/2023 are scheduled to take place on campus. Information on learning at LUH, available IT services and how to use them will be provided by:
- LUIS (Leibniz Universität IT Services)
Email account, Wi-Fi, software licences, notebook rental service and much more: Leibniz Universität IT Services (LUIS) provides IT services and IT infrastructure for research, teaching, and administration. - ZQS/elsa (Centre for Quality Enhancement in Teaching and Learning/E-Learning Service)
ZQS/elsa provides services related to digital media in university education, such as advisory services on using digital media in teaching, technical guidance for members of teaching staff, producing audiovisual media and course content, recording lectures or the learning management systems Stud.IP and ILIAS. - Interview with Prof. Dr. Julia Gillen, Vice President for Teaching and Academic Programmes, and a member of teaching staff from the LUH faculties

ptb provides help and guidance for students of all higher education institutions in Hannover facing issues in the course of their studies or in their personal lives – free of charge and confidential, either in personal consultations or during group appointments. - University Sports Centre
The SportCampus of the University Sports Centre (ZfH) is located within walking distance of the main university building. The ZfH organises a comprehensive sports programme available for all students and members of staff at LUH, including a gym and a climbing hall. In order to relax from your studies, the ZfH offers many popular sports activities.

The hosts will visit the following facilities located in the lower ground floor of the main university building:
- LeibnizShop
LUH merchandise is available in the LeibnizShop, including LUH pencils, coffee2go glass mugs, handcrafted chocolate or organic cotton hoodies. - Leibniz Exhibition
The Leibniz Exhibition is devoted to the namesake of LUH and features numerous exhibits such as models of his famous calculating machines. Furthermore, the exhibition provides insights into his ideas and research in the fields of humanities, law, economics, aesthetics and politics. - Validating your LeibnizCard
The LeibnizCard serves as your student ID and your semester ticket and combines many features, such as paying in cafeterias or using the library. In order to remain valid, the LeibnizCard must be revalidated each semester.

10.10 a.m. TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and University Library
Passing the International Office building, the tour continues at "TIB Science/Technology", the main location of the university library. The team will explain how to use the library and introduce services available at TIB.

10.15 a.m. Student representatives
- Students' union (AStA)
The students' union elected by students represents their interests both within and outside of the university. In addition, the students' union provides guidance on BAföG, social and academic issues, as well as information material and events. Moreover, the student’s union negotiates terms for the semester ticket.

The hosts meet the President of LUH and the Vice President for Teaching and Academic Programmes who will answer questions of first-semester students submitted during the live stream.
