Information Science Lecture Series

Supra-Curricular Approaches to Information Science - Advanced Projection

Information science comprises the fields of collection, documentation, classification, analysis, manipulation, storage, retrieval, movement, dissemination, and protection of information. The key to information science is a solid understanding of knowledge and its context for day-to-day application. The lecture series conveys advanced key qualifications and skills significant for scientific work, research, publishing, and management, in theory and practice.

The lecture series creates a consistent context based on solid fundaments from knowledge to cognition, indispensible long-term aspects of information and holistic context, scientific insight, systematics, methods, decision making, and best practices.

The lectures foster an advanced understanding from integration of essential scientific fundaments and emerging technologies, e.g., mathematical machines, languages, programming paradigms, digitisation, data and information management, algorithms, realisations, artificial "intelligence", and application scenarios.

Two days compulsory attendance (7+7 hours, plus time for optional and voluntary contributions)
