The successful implementation of the DIES Training Course within this region during the last years lead to a growing interest of managers and stakeholders of International Offices from Central American Higher Education Institutions committed to the internationalization of their institutions.

Like the general DIES Training course, the main purpose of this course is to qualify university staff (either International Office staff or higher education managers responsible for coordinating international activities) from Central America to improve and build up more effective structures of Internationalisation at their home universities. Additionally, it provides further multilateral networks of knowledge transfer within this region, collaboration among peers, and the inclusion of an intercultural approach to the curriculum for the middle and long term.

Throughout the 11-month course, participants will develop their own research projects on internationalisation and receive support from experts and the organization team. Moreover, the structure of the course implies the realization of two on-site workshops for participants at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (UNA) and the work on a specific project of internationalization to be implemented at the Centralamerican Universities. The applied methodology will be based on learning from experts, learning from each other, and learning from research and by self-reflection.
