Anette Schröder, Vom Nationalismus zum Nationalsozialismus. Die Studenten der Technischen Hochschule Hannover von 1925 bis 1938. (From nationalism to national socialism. Students at the Technische Hochschule Hannover from 1925 to 1938). Hannover 2003.
In her dissertation, Schröder took a closer look at the Technische Hochschule Hannover’s student body during the 1920s and 1930s. The period in question (1925–1938) was selected, on the one hand, because of the highly chauvinistic-nationalistic leanings of a large part of Hannover’s student body beginning in the 1920s and, on the other hand, because of the relatively good source material available for this period.
Adelheid von Saldern, Anette Schröder, Michael Jung, Frauke Steffens, Geschichte als Zukunft. Die Technische Hochschule in den Umbruchszeiten des 20. Jahrhunderts. (History as the future. The Technische Hochschule in periods of upheaval during the nineteenth century). In: University of Hannover. Festschrift zum 175-jährigen Bestehen der Universität Hannover. (Commemorative publication to mark the 175th anniversary of the University of Hannover). Vol. 1. Hildesheim 2006.
Frauke Steffens, Innerlich gesund an der Schwelle einer neuen Zeit. Die Technische Hochschule Hannover 1945-1956. (Emotionally healthy at the threshold of a new age. The Techniche Hochschule Hannover, 1945–1956). Stuttgart 2011.
Steffens focused on the post-war period and, among other things, aspects of the appraisal of the Nazi period (de-Nazification), the rebuilding of the university in connection with technological debates, and the situation of students at the Technische Hochschule Hannover into the 1950s.
Christian-Alexander Wäldner, Die Technische Hochschule Hannover und der Entzug akademischer Titel in der NS-Zeit. Ergebnisse hannöverscher Vorgänge unter der Berücksichtigung des Falles Walter Dux. (The Technische Hochschule Hannover and the withdrawal of academic titles during the Nazi period. The outcomes of processes in Hannover based on the case of Walter Dux). Berlin 2012.
In his master's thesis, Wäldner investigated the withdrawal of academic titles and honours for racist and/or political reasons at the Technische Hochschule Hannover.
Michael Jung, Voll Begeisterung schlagen unsere Herzen zum Führer. Die Technische Hochschule Hannover und ihre Professoren im Nationalsozialismus. (Our hearts beat for the Führer. The Technische Hochschule Hannover and its professors during the Nazi period). Norderstedt 2013.
Jung’s study approached the topic from a different direction and examined personnel policy, the political views of the professors, and their involvement in war-related academic research at the Technische Hochschule Hannover during the Nazi period.
Because there were personnel-related and other overlaps between the Technische Hochschule Hannover and the significantly older University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover between 1933 and 1945, the following study is also listed: Michael Schimanski, Die Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover im Nationalsozialismus. (The University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover during the Nazi period). Hannover 1997.
