Student Assistant (m/f/d) for a new robotics laboratory

(up to 86 hours per month)

 

The research center L3S invites applications for two positions of a Student Assistant (m/f/d) for a new robotics laboratory (up to 86 hours per month) to be filled as soon as possible. The positions are initially limited to 6 months. A longer-term employment also during the lecture-free period is aimed for.

The L3S is an internationally renowned research center for basic and applied research in the field of artificial intelligence for digital transformation, founded in 2001. The L3S research center develops forward-looking research methods and technologies for the digital transformation and researches the effects of digitalization in the areas of production, mobility, medicine and education. From this, it derives options for action, recommendations and innovation strategies for business, politics and society.

Tasks

Your tasks will include supporting or collaborating in:

  • Collecting tactile data using real robots in the laboratory
  • Developing machine learning algorithm
  • Processing multi-modal sensor data
  • Creating repositories and documentations

Recruitment requirements

  • Enrolment at a German university
  • Advanced Bachelor’s degree or beginning of a Master's degree in electronics, computer science, mechatronics or similar
  • Very good or good knowledge of English
  • Good knowledge of Linux, Python, Git
  • Communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team, reliability, sense of responsibility and flexibility
  • Prior knowledge of ROS is a plus
