The position is initially limited to 3 years.
Your role
An independent research project is waiting for you! You will be working on research project recently funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) that focuses on developing advanced computational methods to decipher the complex effects of loading sequences and the stochastic nature of fatigue loading in concrete. The overarching aim is to improve lifetime prediction for critical infrastructures. In this role, you will pursue your scientific qualification within a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, benefiting from the collegial exchange with our team of engineers, who bring a wide range of expertise to the table.
Who are we looking for?
A prerequisite for employment is a completed scientific university degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in engineering with a strong focus on mechanics/numerical mechanics, particularly continuum mechanics, material modeling, and the finite element method.
Prior experience or a strong interest in data-driven methods and machine learning in mechanics is highly desirable. Above-average academic performance is expected.
