Research Assistant (doctoral candidate, m/f/d) in the field of health economics

The Institute of Health Economics (IHE) has a vacancy for a Research Assistant (doctoral candidate, m/f/d) in the field of health economics (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 75 %) to be filled from September 01, 2024. The position is limited to 3 years. The possibility of a doctorate is given and is expressly desired. We offer a friendly, research-oriented working environment, teleworking and flexible working hours.

Responsibilities and duties

The tasks include the independent scientific implementation of health economic research projects, especially in the field of quantitative data analysis with causal analytical methods as well as the planning, implementation and evaluation of behavioral economic (field) experiments. Cooperation with Harvard University is planned, including short-term research stays. In addition, the tasks include the presentation and publication of results in scientific journals, support in the public communication of research results and participation in teaching and the supervision of theses.

Your profile

The prerequisite for employment is a university degree (diploma/master's degree) in economics with a focus on health economics, or a comparable course of study. An interest in empirical analyses using causal analysis methods or experiments as well as relevant previous knowledge in this field is required. Experience with the use of statistical software (e.g., R, Python or Stata) is an advantage. We expect an affinity for research in health economics. Applicants should have an interest in scientific work and publishing, an independent and flexible way of working as well as team spirit and reliability. Collegial cooperation is very important to us. A very good command of English is a prerequisite. A very good command of German is an advantage.
