Family Service
The first point of contact for questions about studying when you have a child is the Family Service of the Equal Opportunities Office. The team provides individual advice on the following topics:
- Pregnancy and maternity leave
- Planning your course of study (leave of absence)
- Exams and internships
- Childcare
In addition, students with children can take advantage of various workshops and coaching sessions free of charge.

Studentenwerk Hannover also offers student parents a wide range of counselling and support services. The team provides individual advice on the following topics:
- Social benefits (parental allowance, child benefits, unemployment benefits II, mother-child foundation...)
