We are pleased to invite our international students to an online orientation session. During this session, we will provide important information on enrollment, health insurance, and introduce our orientation programs as well as the Study Buddy Program. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to become acquainted with LUH and connect with fellow students.

Topics include finding accommodation, finances, the city of Hannover, administrative procedures, and residence matters (foreigners office).

Are you ready to turn your "Orientation" into real "Integration"?

The first weeks are over, and the real journey at Leibniz University begins now! Starting a new life in a different country is an exciting adventure, but it also comes with "hidden rules" in classrooms and daily life.

At the end, we invite you to a cosy welcome BBQ – the perfect opportunity to meet new people, strike up conversations and relax together at the end of the day.

As part of University Sports Day, we cordially invite international students to try out three sports courses in a row: yoga, Zumba and sports games. The aim is to get to know the wide range of university sports on offer and to get in touch with other students.

The Technical Information Library (TIB) is the central library for science and technology at the University of Hanover (LUH), and an important place for students to study and work. On our guided tours, you’ll gain an understanding of the library’s locations and services, and learn how to make the most of them. You will learn how to quickly find literature, use the study spaces, and make the most of the digital resources.

All students who are completing their entire degree program in Germany (not exchange students) are cordially invited to the official welcome ceremony hosted by the university's executive board. In addition to a speech by the university's executive board, participants will receive information about important facilities and useful tips for a successful start to their studies.

This will be followed by the ceremony for the presentation of the DAAD Prize to particularly committed students. The event will conclude with a finger food buffet, where there will be an opportunity to get to know fellow students and university staff.

We organize a group appointment for international students to register at the Bürgeramt (citizens' registration office). Registration is only possible for students who live in the city area and is mandatory for everyone. It is required, for example, to open a bank account, apply for a tax ID, or extend your visa. The exact dates and call numbers will be assigned to you by email. Please note that registration is binding.
