Waiving your Place of Study

You can withdraw from your place at university within one month of the start of lectures. This applies only to first-year students in undergraduate (Bachelor's, state examination) and postgraduate (Master's) programmes.

Applicants, who wish to forego their place of study, have to fill out the document "request for a study place waiver" (Antrag auf Studienplatzverzicht - German language only) and send it by e-mail to the Admissions Office at studium@uni-hannover.de. Possibly already paid semester fees will be refunded within 6-8 weeks.

All other students must apply for exmatriculation.
