You have successfully completed your application? What are the next steps? On these pages you can discover what can be important after you have submitted your application for a university place.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY APPLICATION?

Acceptances and rejections:

  • Acceptances and rejections of applications for bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes with restricted admission are sent out in the middle of August. Please note that no acceptances are sent out for registrations for bachelor’s degree programmes that are admission-free!
  • In the case of acceptance you must confirm the place via upload within a set period. You will be informed about how the upload of your study place acceptance works and what additional documents you might need to submit (e.g. evidence of health insurance, payment of the semester contribution). Only then will the university be able to matriculate you i.e. register you officially as a student.
  • In case of absence please ask a person of your trust to check your post. You can also authorise this person in written form to accept a place on your behalf.
  • Please note that no acceptances are sent out for registrations for bachelor’s degree courses without admission restrictions!
  • Important: always read your Mail!

After your enrollment

  • After your enrollment (depending on the enrollment date), from mid-September (winter semester) or mid-March (summer semester) your student ID card (LeibnizCard) will be sent to you by post, which includes the semester ticket. The semester ticket is valid by the 01.10. (for the winter semester) or by 01.04. (for the summer semester) valid. Further information and a route map can be found on the AStA website (German language only).

  • After your enrollment you can then print out your matriculation certificate via our online portal. You will also receive your personal LUH ID and initial password in order to register for the university's online services

  • You will be informed by the university about preparatory courses and introductory events and invited to the opening ceremony for first-semester students.

  • The checklist for new students will be a useful tool when you start at Leibniz Universität Hannover.
